To my disappointment this film has been blamed for managing the tended to subjects just on a superficial level and simply attempting to stun the crowd with extraordinary symbolism. I unequivocally need to differ with that. “Das Parfum” might be a ton of things however stunning sure isn’t one of them. Obviously it is outwardly overpowering and not just with pictures of pretty blossoms and hints of the breeze delicately shaking the trees on a warm summer night however what is this film, if not a piece about the exotic nature of the individual? Indeed, it is about scents yet smelling is essentially not something you can insight while sitting in a cinema.
